THE STORY
Julienne Mae, Melbourne R&B wedding singer, performing live vocals.

Singing came first. Weddings turned it into
a calling.

It started in my church choir: me, my sister, my mum and my grandma, all singing together. That's where the voice was trained, but more importantly, it's where I fell in love with performing and entertaining a room. (We're Filipino. Singing isn't a hobby in our family; it's a birthright.)

Then in 2016 I sang someone down the aisle for the first time, watched an entire room fall apart in the best possible way, and thought:

yep. This. is. my. CALLING!

At the time I was studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring In Psychology & Professional Writing (yep, how different). I decided to shift course (literally) and study a Bachelor of Music and make a career out of it. More than 100 weddings later, I still prep every ceremony like it's the first one. I learn your songs in my car (my neighbours at red lights are very well entertained), and I show up early enough that you'll never once wonder where the music is.

Serious about the music. Not‍ ‍serious about much else.

Here's my whole philosophy: your ceremony deserves a vocalist who's rehearsed it to death, and a person who makes the day feel lighter.

So yes, there'll be goosebumps. I’ll also be providing the lols during the soundcheck - I’m a singer who knows your bridal party's names, your story, your favourite songs, all whilst reading the room like a DJ (just with my actual voice).

A few little things that make me, me.

Almond latte with honey. Yes, honey. Trust me.
Singing runs in the family, karaoke is a competitive sport, and there is always more food than anyone could possibly finish.
